I am privileged to contribute and share with you through this year’s edition of The Limelight. The Deputy Principal Academic’s office is the nerve center of the school. It is mandated with coordinating all the academic and co-curricular activities in the school. The departments of Examinations, Career Guidance and that of the Director of Studies fall under this office. My office appreciates all the stakeholders who worked with us to enable us emerge at the top in KCSE 2022. The last year’s class went down the annals of history for posting a mean of 10.8, making us the best in the country. Bravo to you our heroes! To the class of 2023, we have a lot of faith in you. We know that you have the capacity to defend the performance record set by your predecessors. Please push your limits higher.

To enhance better career options, our school introduced six new technical subjects areas: Homescience, German, Mechanics, Building and Connstruction, Electricity and Woodwork. This aims to provide our students with a wide spectrum of curriculum areas to choose from. These subjects’ areas enables our students to venture into various disciplines after high school.

The office works with various departments in the execution of its role. The office is mandated to;
• Direct and coordinate evaluation and assessment of internal, joint examinations and external examinations.

• Coordinate the students registration for KCSE examinations.

• Keeps profiles of academic progressive records.

• Motivates both the students and the teachers. Our targets have been made achievable through strategies listed below;

• Have and abiding by a comprehensive academic policy on curriculum.

• Having a strict admission policy.

• Utilizing the services of both internal and external examiners in giving techniques of how to pass exams in all subjects.

• Holding regular academic meetings to review academic programmes.

• Making analysis of both internal and external examinations.

• Overseeing timely syllabus coverage and preparations of schemes of work, timetables, assessments, testing and evaluation schedules.
